Warranty & Tuning Disclaimer
Last Updated: August 19, 2026
This Warranty & Tuning Disclaimer explains the limited warranty coverage, service workmanship coverage, tuning-related limitations, modification risks, warranty exclusions, inspection procedures, and available remedies that may apply to products sold and services performed by Picarlo.
Picarlo is operated by AVNU Corporation and provides e-bike parts, upgrade kits, repair, installation, diagnostics, tuning, custom modification, and related services.
By purchasing a product, approving a quote, paying a deposit, authorizing service, or using a Picarlo product or service, you agree to this Warranty & Tuning Disclaimer.
1. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to products, parts, accessories, repair services, diagnostics, installation, upgrades, tuning, and custom modification services provided by Picarlo.
Different products and services may have different warranty terms depending on the product category, supplier, manufacturer, service performed, written quote, invoice, product page, or service authorization.
This policy describes Picarlo’s general warranty and tuning framework. If a product page, written warranty, quote, invoice, service authorization, manufacturer warranty, or signed acknowledgment provides more specific terms, the more specific written terms will control for that product or service to the extent permitted by law.
For returns, refunds, order cancellations, deposits, restocking fees, and non-refundable service charges, please review Picarlo’s Return and Refund Policy.
2. Warranty Coverage Overview
Where Picarlo expressly provides a written product warranty, that warranty generally covers defects in materials or workmanship during the stated warranty period, subject to the specific written warranty terms and the exclusions in this policy.
For products sold by Picarlo:
-
BK750W kits: 18 months warranty from the date of sale.
-
BK1010W kits: 18 months warranty from the date of sale.
-
BK1510W kits: 18 months warranty from the date of sale.
-
Other accessories: 12 months warranty from the date of sale.
-
Labor and service parts: 12 months warranty, unless otherwise stated in writing.
Warranty coverage applies only to the original purchaser unless otherwise stated in writing or required by applicable law.
Warranty coverage does not mean that every failure, performance concern, compatibility issue, wear condition, accident, or service need is a warrantable defect.
3. Proof of Purchase and Warranty Eligibility
To request warranty review, customers may be required to provide reasonable proof of purchase and information sufficient for Picarlo to identify the product or service.
Warranty review may require:
-
Full name and contact information.
-
Order number, invoice number, or service ticket number.
-
Product name, SKU, serial number, or identifying information, if available.
-
Vehicle brand, model, configuration, and relevant modification history.
-
Photos, videos, diagnostic information, or a description of the issue.
-
The product, vehicle, battery, charger, controller, wiring, or other relevant components for inspection.
Picarlo may require inspection before approving any repair, replacement, exchange, store credit, partial refund, or other remedy.
4. Limited Product Warranty
Where Picarlo provides a written product warranty, that warranty generally covers qualifying defects in materials or workmanship during the applicable warranty period.
Product warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by misuse, improper installation, accident, water exposure, incompatible components, unauthorized modification, customer-supplied parts, normal wear, or use outside the approved configuration.
Product warranty does not guarantee that a product will be compatible with every vehicle, every configuration, every riding style, every battery, every controller, every charger, every road condition, or every legal environment.
5. Limited Labor and Workmanship Warranty
Where Picarlo provides a labor or workmanship warranty, that warranty is limited to defects directly caused by Picarlo’s covered installation, repair, or service work during the stated labor warranty period.
A labor or workmanship warranty does not create a warranty for the entire vehicle or for parts that Picarlo did not manufacture, sell, install, repair, or alter.
Examples of issues that may be reviewed as potential workmanship claims include an installation connection, adjustment, fastener, routing, assembly, or service procedure performed by Picarlo that is alleged to have been completed incorrectly.
Coverage is subject to inspection and does not apply when the issue is caused by an original vehicle defect, hidden damage, normal wear, customer-supplied parts, later accident, misuse, water exposure, unauthorized repair, subsequent modification, or another excluded cause.
6. Manufacturer and Supplier Warranties
Some products sold by Picarlo may be covered by a manufacturer or supplier warranty rather than a Picarlo product warranty.
When a third-party manufacturer or supplier warranty applies, the warranty provider may control eligibility, documentation requirements, inspection procedures, shipping requirements, repair or replacement decisions, and the available remedy.
Picarlo may, at our discretion, assist customers with a manufacturer or supplier warranty claim. Assistance does not mean that Picarlo guarantees the claim will be approved, that a replacement will be available, or that the manufacturer or supplier will provide a particular remedy.
Any separate labor, removal, reinstallation, diagnostics, shipping, or transportation charges associated with a manufacturer or supplier warranty claim will be handled as stated in writing or as required by applicable law.
7. What Is Not Covered
Unless expressly stated otherwise in a written warranty or required by law, warranty coverage does not apply to damage, failure, deterioration, or service needs caused by:
-
Accidents, crashes, impacts, drops, collisions, theft, vandalism, fire, or external damage.
-
Improper, unsafe, reckless, competitive, abusive, unlawful, or unintended use.
-
Off-road use, jumps, stunts, overloading, racing, or extreme riding beyond the product or vehicle’s intended use, unless expressly covered in writing.
-
Water exposure, flooding, rain damage, pressure washing, corrosion, excessive moisture, salt, chemicals, extreme heat, or other environmental conditions.
-
Normal wear and tear or routine maintenance needs.
-
Failure to inspect, maintain, adjust, or service the vehicle or product appropriately.
-
Unauthorized repair, disassembly, wiring changes, software changes, firmware changes, programming changes, private tuning, tampering, or subsequent modification.
-
Customer-supplied parts or defects caused by customer-supplied parts.
-
Incorrect installation or service performed by anyone other than Picarlo, where that work caused or contributed to the claimed issue.
-
Pre-existing conditions, hidden vehicle damage, frame defects, worn brakes, damaged wiring, battery deterioration, or other original vehicle issues not caused by Picarlo.
-
Cosmetic conditions that do not materially affect covered function, unless expressly covered.
-
Loss of use, downtime, missed work, transportation expense, towing, rental expense, lost income, or other incidental or consequential losses, to the extent such exclusions are permitted by law.
8. Consumable and Wear Items
Consumable and wear items are generally not covered for ordinary wear, deterioration, or replacement needs unless a specific written warranty states otherwise or the item is determined to have a covered defect.
These items may include, without limitation:
-
Brake pads and brake friction materials.
-
Tires and inner tubes.
-
Chains, belts, sprockets, and drivetrain wear components.
-
Bearings and bushings.
-
Cables, housings, grips, and similar contact or wear items.
-
Brake fluid, lubricants, sealants, and other service consumables.
-
Fasteners, small hardware, and other items subject to ordinary service wear.
9. Electronics, Batteries, Chargers, and Programmed Components
Batteries, chargers, controllers, displays, wiring harnesses, connectors, sensors, motors, and other electrical or programmed components may be subject to product-specific warranty terms and additional inspection requirements.
Installation, connection, charging, programming, testing, or use of an electronic component may materially affect the ability to diagnose the cause of a failure. A warranty claim may therefore require inspection of the complete vehicle configuration and related electrical components.
Picarlo may review battery condition, charger compatibility, controller settings, wiring, connectors, water exposure, physical damage, temperature-related damage, charging history, visible modification, and other relevant factors before determining warranty eligibility.
Warranty coverage generally does not apply to damage caused by incompatible charging, incorrect voltage, reversed polarity, short circuit, damaged connectors, improper wiring, water intrusion, overheating, physical impact, unauthorized opening or repair, modified battery packs, mismatched components, or use contrary to safety instructions.
Products that have been installed, energized, programmed, configured, or tested may also be subject to separate rules in Picarlo’s Return and Refund Policy. Return eligibility and warranty eligibility are separate issues.
10. Customer-Supplied Parts
Picarlo does not provide a Picarlo product warranty for parts supplied by the customer or purchased from a third party outside Picarlo.
Picarlo does not guarantee the safety, quality, authenticity, certification, legality, performance, or compatibility of customer-supplied batteries, chargers, controllers, motors, displays, throttles, wiring harnesses, adapters, brakes, suspension parts, drivetrain parts, or other components.
If Picarlo agrees to install or service a customer-supplied part, any written labor or workmanship warranty is limited to Picarlo’s own covered service work and does not cover the customer-supplied part itself.
If a customer-supplied part causes or contributes to damage, electrical failure, overheating, fire risk, compatibility problems, injury, or additional repair needs, those issues are not covered by Picarlo product warranty and may not be covered by any labor warranty.
Picarlo may require a separate Customer-Supplied Parts Acknowledgment before accepting or installing certain customer-supplied components.
11. Tuning and Modification Disclaimer
E-bike tuning, upgrades, controller changes, speed-related settings, motor changes, battery changes, firmware changes, and custom modifications may materially affect vehicle behavior.
Tuning or modification may affect:
-
Acceleration.
-
Top speed.
-
Braking distance.
-
Brake heat and wear.
-
Handling and stability.
-
Tire, wheel, frame, fork, and suspension stress.
-
Battery temperature.
-
Controller temperature.
-
Motor temperature.
-
Wiring and connector load.
-
Drivetrain wear.
-
Range and battery life.
-
Legal classification.
-
Warranty status.
-
Insurance coverage.
-
Permitted riding locations.
Picarlo does not guarantee that a tuned, upgraded, or modified vehicle will remain eligible for the original manufacturer’s warranty, supplier warranty, dealer warranty, insurance coverage, or lawful use in any particular location.
12. No Performance Guarantee
Any statement about speed, range, acceleration, climbing ability, power, torque, battery life, charge time, or other performance is an estimate unless Picarlo expressly provides a written, product-specific guarantee.
Actual results may vary based on battery condition, battery voltage, controller limits, motor characteristics, rider weight, payload, tire size, tire pressure, terrain, incline, wind, temperature, riding style, maintenance, original vehicle condition, firmware, and other factors.
Picarlo does not guarantee that every vehicle will achieve a specific speed, range, acceleration rate, or climbing result.
Objective performance claims should be understood in the context of the test conditions or assumptions stated with the claim.
13. High-Power and Off-Road Configurations
Products or services involving 1000W, 1500W, high-power controllers, speed unlocking, off-road tuning, or other high-performance modifications are not sold or represented as guaranteed street-compliant e-bike products.
Such products or configurations may be intended only for lawful off-road, closed-course, private-property, competition, testing, or controlled-environment use where that use is permitted by law and by the property or facility operator.
Installing or using a high-performance product may cause a vehicle to no longer qualify as an electric bicycle and may subject the vehicle or rider to additional registration, licensing, insurance, equipment, helmet, age, identification, or operating requirements.
Picarlo does not encourage, recommend, authorize, or approve illegal operation of high-performance or modified vehicles on public roads, sidewalks, bike lanes, bike paths, trails, parks, school areas, or other restricted locations.
Picarlo may require a separate High-Power / Off-Road Acknowledgment before accepting, releasing, installing, programming, or servicing a high-performance configuration.
14. Brakes, Tires, Frame, and Mechanical Limits
Higher speed and power may increase stopping distance, heat, load, and wear on brakes, tires, wheels, bearings, suspension, frames, forks, chains, belts, and drivetrain components.
An upgrade to one system does not mean that the rest of the vehicle is designed for the new performance level.
Picarlo may recommend brake, tire, wheel, suspension, structural, or maintenance changes before or after a performance upgrade.
You are responsible for regular inspection and maintenance after service or modification. Stop riding and seek inspection if you notice abnormal noise, vibration, looseness, brake fade, steering changes, heat, electrical odor, battery swelling, damaged wiring, unusual power delivery, or any other unsafe condition.
15. Right to Inspect and Diagnose
Picarlo has the right to inspect and, where reasonably necessary, test the product, vehicle, battery, charger, controller, wiring, service records, photos, videos, configuration, or related components before approving a warranty remedy.
Inspection may be necessary to determine whether the issue is caused by a covered defect, covered workmanship, normal wear, original vehicle condition, customer-supplied parts, misuse, water exposure, accident, unauthorized modification, incompatible components, or another excluded cause.
Picarlo may require you to stop using the product, provide photos or videos, complete troubleshooting steps, bring the vehicle or product to our location, or return a component for inspection before a warranty decision is made.
Do not ship lithium-ion batteries or other regulated hazardous materials to Picarlo unless Picarlo has expressly provided written shipping instructions. Shipping requirements for batteries and other regulated items may be subject to carrier and legal restrictions.
Picarlo may charge a reasonable diagnostic, inspection, tear-down, testing, or shipping fee if the issue is not covered by warranty, provided the charge is disclosed or authorized as required by applicable law and Picarlo policy.
16. Warranty Remedies
If Picarlo determines that a claim is covered, Picarlo will provide the remedy stated in the applicable written warranty and required by applicable law.
Depending on the product, service, and circumstances, an available remedy may include:
-
Repair of the covered product or service issue.
-
Replacement of a covered component or product.
-
Reinstallation, adjustment, or correction of covered workmanship.
-
Store credit, partial refund, or another agreed remedy where appropriate.
-
Another remedy required by applicable law.
The customer may not be entitled to select a particular remedy unless the applicable written warranty or law provides that right. Picarlo will not reduce or eliminate any remedy that cannot lawfully be limited.
17. No Automatic Full-Vehicle Warranty
Repairing, installing, upgrading, diagnosing, tuning, or modifying one part of an e-bike does not mean that Picarlo warrants the entire vehicle.
Picarlo is not responsible under this policy for unrelated parts, original manufacturer defects, hidden frame damage, pre-existing electrical problems, aged batteries, worn brakes, deteriorated wiring, prior modifications, or components outside the scope of the covered product or service.
If Picarlo identifies a safety concern or unrelated issue during service, we may recommend additional work. A recommendation does not mean that the issue was caused by Picarlo or that the additional work is covered by warranty.
18. Maintenance and Customer Responsibilities
Warranty coverage may depend on the customer using, charging, storing, inspecting, and maintaining the product or vehicle in a reasonably safe manner and following applicable product instructions.
Customers are responsible for routine inspection and maintenance, including appropriate review of brakes, tires, fasteners, drivetrain components, wiring, connectors, battery condition, and other safety-critical components.
Failure to perform reasonable maintenance does not automatically void every warranty right. However, damage or failure caused by neglect, improper maintenance, or continued use after a known safety problem may be excluded from coverage to the extent permitted by law.
You should keep records of repairs, modifications, replacement parts, and maintenance because those records may help evaluate a warranty claim.
19. Unauthorized Repairs and Modifications
Picarlo may deny warranty coverage for damage or failure caused by unauthorized repair, disassembly, tampering, wiring changes, software changes, programming changes, tuning, private tuning, or later modification.
However, Picarlo does not condition warranty coverage solely on the use of Picarlo-branded parts or Picarlo service where such a restriction would be prohibited by applicable law. The issue is whether a third-party part, service, repair, or modification caused or contributed to the claimed defect or damage.
20. Relationship to Returns and Refunds
A return request and a warranty claim are different processes.
A product that is not eligible for return may still be reviewed for warranty coverage if an applicable warranty exists. Likewise, a product may be returnable under the Return and Refund Policy even when there is no warranty defect.
Return eligibility, cancellation rights, deposits, restocking fees, final sale items, and non-refundable service charges are governed by Picarlo’s Return and Refund Policy.
21. Applicable Law
Except for any express written warranty provided by Picarlo and any warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded, Picarlo does not make additional warranties beyond those expressly stated in the applicable written warranty or required by law.
Any disclaimer or limitation in this policy applies only to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Some jurisdictions provide mandatory implied warranties, statutory remedies, or other consumer rights that cannot be waived or limited.
Nothing in this policy is intended to disclaim, modify, or limit any right or remedy in a manner prohibited by applicable law.
22. Changes to This Policy
Picarlo may update this Warranty & Tuning Disclaimer from time to time. The updated version will be posted on our website with a revised Last Updated date.
Unless otherwise permitted by law, a later policy update will not reduce warranty rights that already vested under an express written warranty applicable to a prior purchase.
